Insomnia
March 5th, 2007 at 06:27
This is getting ridiculous. Its currently 05:15am, and I’ve been trying to get to sleep for the past three hours. So I’ve done the most obvious thing: given up and gone on the internet to write about it.
I don’t think this would be so bad if I didn’t have to be up at 08:55am, to be out of the house by 09:45, for about thirteen hours. Today I’ve got four hours of uni, four and a half hours of work, and commuting in between. And even if I fell asleep now I’d be doing it on about three and a half hours sleep.
I think part of the problem was that I got up today… yesterday… whatever at ten past one in the afternoon, which despite my lazy student credentials appears to have completely fucked up my internal clock.
This insomnia has lead me to discover one thing though: for some reason, despite it being the middle of the night, birds seem to wake up at about half past four and start tweeting at the top of their voices… which doesn’t help. Oh, and it turns out that the radiators appear to kick back into action around 5am again… or at least, they’ve started making sort of clicking noises that imply activity.
Word on the political blogs is that Margaret Thatcher is dead. It still hasn’t appeared in the mainstream media, but that’s presumably because there’s some sort of embargo on it (so they can inform the family first, rather than let the family find out when they switch on their radios and hear the Wizard of Oz soundtrack). So if this news is accurate, you heard it here first second.
Yeah, this is probably the least coherent blog entry I’ve ever written, but given the time, can you cut me some slack? Please?
